Safe Torque Off - Embedded FSoE Master

This section is only available on Safe drives and CoE communication.

This step of the configuration Wizard is used to check that the drive's safe torque off (STO) can be disabled properly.

Enabling the motor will automatically release the STO signal! Make sure that your setup is safe and that motor movements do not pose a risk to people or resources. Keep the power supply switch out of the motion area and always switch it off before manipulating the setup.

To check it, the “Test STO” button does the following steps:

  1. Starts FSoE protocol and reach data state

  2. Disables STO

  3. Check STO status

  4. Wait for a second

  5. Enables STO

  6. Stops the FSoE

Beware that the STO of the safe drive can also be complemented with the Safe Input mapped to the STO: https://drives.novantamotion.com/summit/0x46d2-safe-inputs-map

Before running the tests, STO is active:

When clicking the button the STO it will start FSoE and test that the STO can be disabled for at least 1 second:
