Can I connect a torque sensor to my Summit drive?

Yes, the torque sensor can be connected through the differential analog inputs of the Summit drive. Please check the Pinout and/or Wiring and Connections section of your respective drive.

In order to use the torque sensor to its full capacity, the output must be read by the master. This allows the torque loop to be closed in the master. The drive does not currently have the capability to have the torque loop closed without the use of the master. For more information, please contact your Novanta Servo Drives representative.

More information on the Torque modes can be found here: Torque modes (CST, T) .
