Can I connect the drive to three absolute encoders?
Yes, you can connect the Summit drive (EVS, CAP and DEN) to three absolute encoders provided that two of them are connected in daisy chain.
The list of possible scenarios is detailed in the table below:
Scenario | Comment | Reference | Commutation | Velocity | Position | Auxuliary |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | With Gearbox | Primary Absolute Slave 1 | Primary Absolute Slave 1 | Primary Absolute Slave 1 | Secondary Absolute Slave 1 | Primary Absolute Slave 2 |
2 | With Gearbox | Secondary Absolute Slave 1 | Secondary Absolute Slave 1 | Secondary Absolute Slave 1 | Primary Absolute Slave 1 | Primary Absolute Slave 2 |
3 | Without Gearbox | Primary Absolute Slave 1 | Primary Absolute Slave 1 | Secondary Absolute Slave 1 | Secondary Absolute Slave 1 | Primary Absolute Slave 2 |
4 | Without Gearbox | Secondary Absolute Slave 1 | Secondary Absolute Slave 1 | Primary Absolute Slave 1 | Primary Absolute Slave 1 | Primary Absolute Slave 2 |
Only Primary Absolute Slave 1 and Primary Absolute Slave 2 can be connected in daisy chain.
Please note that this is not supported on EVE drives.
For the detailed list of limitations, please see the Feedbacks section of the respective drive.
